How to Care for Dekton
Dekton is well-regarded for its durability and low maintenance needs. To ensure it remains in top condition, follow these care guidelines:
Cleaning: For everyday cleaning, use a mild dish soap and water with a soft cloth. Steer clear of abrasive sponges or cleaners that could harm the surface.
Stain Removal: For persistent stains, apply a non-abrasive cleaner. A paste made from baking soda and water can be effective for removing stains without scratching the surface.
Heat Resistance:While Dekton can handle heat well, always use trivets or heat mats to avoid placing hot pots and pans directly on the surface to prevent thermal shock.
Scratch Resistance: Although Dekton is highly scratch-resistant, using cutting boards during food preparation is recommended to keep the surface in excellent condition.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Refrain from using bleach, oven cleaners, or other harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surface over time.
How Dekton is Made
Dekton is crafted through an advanced process involving a unique blend of raw materials used in making glass, porcelain, and quartz surfaces. The production involves several critical steps:
Selection of Raw Materials: Premium raw materials, including glass, quartz, and porcelain, are meticulously chosen and mixed.
Particle Sintering:The mixed materials are subjected to high-pressure sintering, compacting them into a dense, ultra-compact surface.
High-Temperature Firing: The sintered material is fired at temperatures exceeding 1200°C, which melds the particles into a solid, non-porous surface.
Cooling and Finishing: Post-firing, the slabs are gradually cooled to avoid thermal shock and then polished or textured to achieve the desired finish.
Quality Control: Each slab undergoes strict quality control to ensure it meets the high standards for Dekton surfaces.
